Situated only 30 miles from the ferry port of Cherbourg and 60 miles from Caen the historic château which was the first to be liberated during the allied landings of 1944 has a wealth of history, character and charm. If you do travel by train the nearest town (Carentan) is only 3 miles away and you may even choose to be picked up at the station!
